Palolem beach is one amongst the most visited beaches in the South Goa beach circuit. A vast expanse of silvery sand and picturesque surroundings make the crescent-shaped Palolem beach a major attraction for the tourists in Goa. The hills of the Western Ghats serve as the perfect backdrop to the palm-fringed beach. The beach is beautiful so much so that it was featured in the Hollywood flick 'The Bourne Supremacy' in the year 2004.
The Palolem Beach is secluded and isolated as compared to the other beaches in North Goa. Palolem is fishing beach where you can see a number of fishermen sailing in their fishing boats. Dolphin spotting is easy here as dolphins are found in plenty.
There are small shops around the Palolem beach that sell beachwear, souvenirs, seafood snacks and sarongs. Several accommodation options are scattered around the beach including guest houses and beach huts.
How to ReachCanacona Railway Junction is the closest from the beach. It is just 3 kilometres off. Palolem beach is easily accessible from Margao which is 40 kilometres off the beach. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are easily available at Margao. Buses from Margao upto Palolem are available on a daily basis.
